Yes.That means he is going to shed soon.
You should leave him alone while he sheds, because this is a stressful period for a snake.

When snakes become dull it means they are about to shed.Leave your snake alone and don't feed it.You may also think about providing a moist hide.

A container with moss or damp paper towel is fine.I personally use an Exo-Terra snake cave as a moist hide.Put the hide over the heat pad,or close to making sure it is not directly on the glass and has some substrate underneath. This will make sure the hide is warm for your snake.

Good luck.

I'm a bit confused when you say your snake overall looks "dull". My snake's eyes only look dull or rather foggy when it is about to shed, not so much the overall appearance. But perhaps I am missing something.

Nanners, my snake, sheds frequently, and I know when it becomes dormant for a period of time, and its eyes get fogged over that shedding is right around the corner. Within days I see her (?) shed skin and things are back to normal.

How long have you had your pet snake? Do you know its habbits yet? How often do you feed, etc?

It's been several days since your initial post, did it shed?
