Although many people are afraid of snakes, these slithery creatures are a very important part of the world in which we live. These reptiles are vital in controlling the population of smaller animals, like rodents. Can you imagine what it would be like if rats or rabbits or frogs or even insects were able to multiply with no controls? Snakes are an essential element of the foods chains in which they are found.
