My friend recently got an annole and a leopard gecko, not in the same cage. She thinks she can handle them like her gerbils and degus, but I think she's really wrong. I thought you couldn't handle lizards, and she's trying to tame them! Her annole always turns brown when she handles her, and that's bad. She's generally a good pet mommy, so I hope she's just misinformed...
So my question is, can leos and annoles be handled?
Anoles are generally jumpy and dont like being handled. Leo's (leopard gecko's) will allow short periods of handling for about 5-10 minutes a day if you handle them gently. They dont enjoy it but they will tolerate it.
ive a pet anole once named elvis, and he's a bit tamed though i cant actually expect him to be as sweet as an iguana. when i bought elvis i ALWAYS talk to him making him FEEL safe so 4 days after i bought him, he's tamed already though i dont know if this method would also work for you
