Nope gender isn't a big deal besides the fact that there aren't many females in this house!
How about Guiana? I'll have to think about that though.

Gianna, similar to the name you said, is an itallian form of Jane, which is the femine of John.
Lizzy is a really cute name for a Lizard yet also very unoriginal if you prefer less common names.
Mint is cute for an animal that often turns green, and more original than Lizzy.
I like Fern for a female lizard. Lotus is also cute, as is Amyris which is a spicy scent used in perfumes.
And the weirdest thing I really like though, I thought of using plain words not normally used as names but would still sound kinda neat. Here are two of those:
Sequin
Amulette
Rogue and Shadow would make cute lizard names.
Well, for a quick check of my name notebooks that's a pretty decent list I hope. Enjoy your new pet. He/she sounds interesting.

I'm glad Rav was here while I was gone. It looks like you got all the info you need, now you name ideas.
I like Texcavy's ideas. I always try to go with alliteration when naming my pets. I've named my bearded dragons-Brutus and Bob, my Iguana-Isaac, and my collarded lizard Camille and Clayton.
If you don't know what alliteration is, it is using the same consonant.
I would suggest names like Alice, Agnes, and Alex.
Whatever you choose, I am sure it will fit your little guy just fine.

Thanks Capn, Lizgirl, and Tex! AND Ravnos for helping so much!
Rogue or Shadow- Doesn't fit.
Fern- I really like that too.
Amulette- Reminds me of omelette, hehee, Maybe I'm not pronouncing it right. I don't want to fry her with those lamps! Naughty tex- that's not the general idea.
I like Amyris and Sequin too
Then again, I really like Sienna.
She has a look on her face like "god won't those guinea pigs ever shut up?"
Guianna has kind of stuck with me. Do you know that cute little disney movie where the mice save the humans? I think there are two of them (two mice, two movies). Well anyway, there is a huge lizard in one of the movies named Joanna, and Guianna reminds me of that.

How is Guianna pronounced?
Amulette is pronounced
"am" as in "I am somebody"
"u" as in "you"
"lette" as in "let"
like an amulet which means a charm.

Lizards are cool. We kind of had a lizard once. It lived in the cactus garden outside. He or she was a horned lizard of some sort though not a Texas horned toad. We called it Spike. I thought it was really neat when it turned orangy tones around its neck.

Well it died.
I have a few theories:
1) that it wasn't eating
2) that it was sick and I didn't know
3) it was so stressed out it died
I can't seem to bring myself to buy another, especially after finding out they come from the wild.
I am selling most of the equiptment.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
My brother had an anole once and he didn't live long either. It was very dissapointing. Don't give up on lizards completely. There are other species that are more hardy and bred by breeders instead of being caught wild.
I really enjoyed my Collared Lizard pair. I've also ejoyed my Bearded Dragons. They are dessert lizards which usually makes them a little more hardy.

I had a bearded dragon once, absolutely loved him. I was too ignorant to give proper care though- and he died because he ate plastic at the bottom of his cage.

I've never had an animal live a very long or healthy life when I got it from PetCo. Poor thing! I'm so sorry. Anoles aren't easy keepers, from what I've read. I'm getting some for Christmas (hopefully... my mom doesn't like anything with scales, which is a shame, because the I really would prefer an iguana to a dog). Anyway, look into finding local or private owned pet stores to get your animals. PetCo/PetSmart are the places to go for supplies.
I reccommend Leopard Geckos. They're incredibly cool, and even my mom likes the one my brother has. They're also incredibly hardy! My little brother got his when he was, like, 6 years old, and now it's really big for a leopard gecko, on top of being extremely healthy (this amazes me, because my brother forgets to change his water/poop scoop for weeks on end). We also got it from a local pet store. ^_^ Don't give up on lizards, and don't be afraid to try Anoles or Bearded Dragons again, because you have some experience now, and you're probably more responsible than you were when you had your Dragon. And never get your pets from PetCo. ^_~

Congrats on your new Anole! When I was about 6 years old, I caught one outside of my house in Georgia and kept it in a spare 10 gallon tank... The lizard lived for 4 more years after I upgraded it's tank to 20 gallons.. Of course it's a miracle that he lived so long in the hands of a child, but I was always very careful with my feeding.. I started out feeding him fruit flies when he was little, then crickets but he seemed really partial to regular houseflies, as he would chase them all over his tank and joyfully chomp down on the little bug once he caught it.They are VERY cool pets.
