I've had a visitor - need advice

I need a bit of advice. I was sitting at my computer, minding my own business, when I saw something about four inches long move across my bedroom carpet out of the corner of my eye. Of course, it nearly gave me a heart attack until I realized it was a little lizard and not something more 'sinister'. The trouble is, he disappeared before I could catch him and take him outside. I have two dogs in the house and am concerned he may not make it back outside. Is there anything I can do to help find him or keep him from becoming a doggie toy?

Short of finding him and sending him outside... not really much you can do for him. Just watch for strange behavior in your dogs. If they find him, chances are they'll get excited about it.

That's what I figured, but thought I'd ask. Thanks Rav. I wonder if he hasn't been in here a couple days, I've noticed the pups intermittently drooling for no reason. I'm sure they taste bad when licked (which both dogs would do), which would explain the drooling.

Most lizards do not have any skin secretions that would have a taste. Did you happen to see what color he was? I often get little geckos in my house, they usually do just fine and eat the spiders in the corners. If he was a little anole, he might not do so well indoors, as they need UV light. You can be pretty much guranteed that he is eating bugs though, so he's doing you a favor.

He was maybe a dark brown/green, probably an anole. I saw him so briefly it's hard to say.
