Leopard Gecko

I have a Leopard Gecko lizard who is a rescue from a girl who neglected to feed him. She told me she fed him 40 crickets a week.. and sadly upon picking him up it was very apparent he had not eaten for a while and didn't most likely eat often. I will take some pictures soon of him. He was so skinny when I got him (the pics are just of his head shown so far) that he had no fat deposit in his tail and it was as thin as the bone it was covering, and his belly was half the width of the widest part of his head. I actually was not sure if he was going to live. I put him on paper towel to cleanse him of what he was picking out of the sand he came in.. I think he was trying to eat.. anything. He was given some split meal worms but is now on full adult size crickets not that he has gotten some energy into him as he originally wasn't walking too fast. He is just now starting to gain some size in his tail as his belly has gotten double since June as when I first got him.

Anyhow.. here are the only pictures I have so far. I can take a pic of his tank (27 gal) sometime soon.

that is a good thing you saved him probably he he wuld haved die soon. a few of his toes is cut off from dead skin cutted off circulaton it look like. probably the person you got him from didnt gived him any humid hide. i dont understand how people can have an animal like that and not think anything is wrong. its very sad. but now atleast that will be a happy gecko.

What a lovely thing you did, saving that little one. Congratulations on your new friend, and I agree, you do take some very nice photos of your leo! Perhaps a new hobby in the making!
