meal worms for leo

i know its not a good idea to make superworms the only diet for your leopard gecko. but thats all he will eat, and he has been eating them fine for 3 years with no problems. it is too cold in the house to keep the superworms alive. i was wondering if it would be okay if i just put ALL the superworms in the lizard tank where its warm. i dont think this would oppose a problem because he doesnt eat if he is not hungrey. he doesnt even eat everyday, and never has even if i try to feed him everyday. i can put a sliced potatoe in the tank for the worms to eat, and i know thats fine for the leopard gecko. if you think this would cause problems could someone please tell me what they think.
