My new Leopard Gecko. First reptile

I got my first reptile today. I have been doing a lot of reading the last few week and going to a lot of different pet store looking at different pets. I had a hard time picking out what I wanted a Leopard Gecko or Bearded Dragon. Had choice but I went with the Leo since they require less space, a good starting reptile and I work most of the day so when I get home from work is in the evening so he/she would sleep will I was working. I have 3 kids but they are only at my house one a month. so I thought they would enjoy looking at it. they will not be playing with it yet.I do hope to own a Dragon someday since my kids would like it more I think since my boy would think the name is cool. But after I got his home up and I thought I had temps close. I have had a little problems with temps my warm side was around 90-93 and colder side around 70-73. So I bought some sand a insulater and put my reptile carpet on top hoping that help. Right now the warm side is 94 and cold side 77. I did buy a red warming light to put in the middle if I do need added temp.I went out to pick out the one I wanted. I am not sure what the morph is of this or what kind it is other then it is a leopard gecko. I think the person told me it was a albino but not sure there were 4 in the cage. There baby and a little bit bigger think still a baby but it was a little different in color. it is about 4-6 inches from head to end of tail.
ok here are some picture the first few it is on sand but then put in the carpet.
bummer looks like I have to post some more before I can post picture. I will post some up after I get to 20 post

thank you guys for all the good info.

Congrats.
I used to have two leos.I do want to say,you should get rid of the sand.Sand can cause impaction which can kill your gecko.

Leos are not the most exciting reptile, but they are definatly a good starter lizard.Good luck with him (or her)!

Just because you haven't seen him shed yet doesn't mean he hasn't. Shedding is a very private time for some geckos, as silly as that may seem.

Geckos also eat their shed, So you won't find it anywhere in the tank

This is true and they eat their shedded skin as well.
