New Cresteds

Well I brought home my TWO new crested gecko that my parents bought me for my birthday. They are a proved breeding pair, 5 years old and unfortunately no tails but that's ok.

The male is the nice olive one. He has been named Louis or just Lu for short. The female is currently nameless, I have a felling that she is a Harlequin and may be gravid. Right now she is finishing off her shed.

Their new home is a 40 gallon standing on its side with live plants.

A little update on them:
I am changing the way Louis' name is spelled because LEWIS is better. The female is still un-named so any ideas?

Another quick little update, it has been an eventful day with the female who I have JUST found after she escaped and had we tear my room apart, to not find her, and then to find her just sitting there a little while later.

Both Lewis and the female lost their tails long ago. Crested geckos will drop their tails as a defensive mechanisim(sp) to distract the predator. They drop their tails out of fear and stress, also if they get their tails stuck (or you grab them by the tail) they will drop their tail. Crested geckos unlike most geckos will not regenerate their tails so they will forever be stump butts.
