Sorry for posting on this thread, I just thought it might be better if I asked you some questions about the enclosures on this thread. I'm still getting used to Paw-Talk etiquitte.

Anyways, did you plant your plants in the coconut fiber? I just got 3 plants, I think they will be great for hiding, I also got pots for the smaller ones and not for the larger, is that okay? Or should I pack up the coconut fiber around them? I dunno.

The feeding level looks like a great idea. I'm guessing that should be off the ground, correct?

Eek, I'm so excited! Hopefully I will be getting him tomorrow, after I get the tank all set up tonight! Woo!!

In Tiny's enclosure I have pothos planted right into the coconut fiber and the other two plants in pots with organic soil and peat moss topped with coconut fiber.

In the 40 gallon I ended up removing all of the coconut fiber and putting the plants in pots since I have a breeding pair of geckos the coconut fiber made finding the eggs hard. The plants are potted in peat moss and organic soil.

You want to use plants that have broad leafs to support the geckos weight. Pothos, mother-in-laws tongue and mass cane are all good plants.

Alright, I think I will just keep them in their pots then. Thanks so much for the help, I will be getting some pics of the enclosure up soon, for review hopefully.

You are going to need to changing the soil and wash the plants before putting them in the enclosure, since the stores usually using plant foods and chemicals. You also don't want any of the perlite (the little white things) in the soil since it can get stuck in their feet.

Oh and the feeding ledge that you see in the picture is not there anymore because it fell off.

The food does not need to do off the ground but you can make one or order and magnetic feeding ledge.

I thought I would update.

I had to throw out the live plant in the 40 gallon because on an infestation of mealy bugs. I replaced everything. Lots of fake plants from the $1.25 store, a plastic candy cane (CHRISTMAS) and paper towel now.

And here is Stanford's home. He needs more climbing things and cover but he spends most of his time hanging out on the screen.

I have to admit the fake are so much better. I use to have a fruity/plantly smell to my room but not anymore. Fake are also a lot easier and you can achieve the 'look' better and get more coverage. I still have live in Tiny's and Stan's tanks though

One of my live plants is thriving though, one like the one in the back of Tiny's cage, the spiky ones. That one is doing great! But I think its a little too hard to climb when its wet, so I want a better climbing plant. I just love plants though! Do you ever take any of the geckos out and let them climb on plants in your house?

The on in the back is 'Song of India' and it's has long since died.

My family and I are serial plant murderers so I don't have any plants to let them play in.
