Toirt, got a lighting question

We are looking at a light for Brutus our bearded dragon that provides heat and Uv rays. We used a Mercury Hydride(sp?) light, but it was expensive and burned out pretty quickly, 3-5 months. I was wondering if you use such lights or have any suggestions.
