Weird sounds coming from my gecko (not hissing)
Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum stuff but I need some help. I have a leopard gecko that I had adopted around mid to late july. he had dropped his tail but it was already growing back nicely when I adopted him. I do not use sand as a substrate at all, nor a heat rock. He has a day lamp, heating pad, and night lamp as it's getting colder at night here in Massachusetts. He has been great up until last night/tonight. around 430 or so I heard him make a "coughing" noise from in his tank last night. he looked like he was trying to bring something up, but did not and stopped making the noise. he ate just fine last nite, excretes regularly as well. tonight around 5 i heard the noise again. i did not see him make an motions like last nite, but the coughing, gagging noise concerns me. he also looks a little pale like he will shed, but has not and usually does fairly quickly. could this be a digestive problem due to lack of calcium? infection? i did call a doctor as soon as I heard him again tonight as I thought it was a fluke last nite and am hoping to hear back tomorrow. if anyone has any thoughts I'd really appreciate it as i would hate to have anything happen to my buddy. thanks
