adjusting to CATS?!?! - Paw Talk

new dog, Silver, who found me, well, he is very good, generally.
but he barks at the cats, & freaks them out! i have already taught him to "sit", but now the cats are scared to go by him!
any ideas? meanwhile, the cats will sleep on the bed, which they prefer, as its warm! Silver on the floor with Shadow. no wonder the cats stay with me!

I'd say just keep doing what you're doing and give it time. These things just take time.

Is he still barking at the cats? I would correct him when he barks at them, maybe by squirting him with a squirt bottle to teach him that it is not ok to bark at them.

Hopefully he will get used to them soon and be able to coexist much more peacefully.
