Adoption

Well I love animals and personally have an adopted pet at home but I was wondering was your dog adopted or purchased?

My dog was adopted.
She's 7/8 now and we've had her just over 2 years. She's gone through alot of homes, and had some real crappy ones. She drives me crazy sometimes with her bad habbits, but i love her and know she appreciates us, as most rescued animals do.

I will not buy a pet (well next to a gerbil/hamster/mouse if i can't adopt them elseware) from a pet store, and if i was to buy an animal from a breeder i would make sure they were reputable and registered.

Adopted.. we got our dog Cali from animal rescue when she was 9 months old. She was in a tough home before we got her.. she was beaten by a woman so she has trust issues with women.. but she is getting better now I can't buy pets from pet stores because I feel too guilty thinking of all the critters out there who are stuck in a cement cell looking for a loving home

I adopted my dog Lady from a bad home, she is an amazing dog full of love and kisses, my brother adopted Puppers from the pound (he was 6 weeks old and on his last day) but we did buy Penny (yorkie) and we went there to get her cause my mom has always wanted a yorkie, but we didn't like the people at all, and at the same time I couldn't leave her there with those horrible people so I paid way way way to much for a yorkie mix lol but she is my baby and I am just glad I got her away from that place...my cat is also adopted, feline foundation

both my animals are adopted. Shadow was adopted when he showed up at my camp abused and starving and Millie is from the Humane Society. She was taken too young and still has problems with separation, but so does Shadow so they make a great pair. Except when I take shadow on a walk and Millie watches from the window and cries when she can't see us.
Shadow definitely has some problems (mostly stealing food) but he has gotten much better in the 3 years I've had him. He's a completely different dog now.

well, since i have multiple dogs... i picked based on my most recent additions. I have both purchased and adopted. In addition to that I do rescue when I can.

My last new addition was my newfie puppies who were both purchased. Our cat was adopted.

My Great Dane was purchased 11 years ago. She's the only pet besides my iguana that was purchased.

All my cats, degus and past dogs have been adopted.

Both my dogs were purchased from breeders. I'd like to adopt in the future, though .

My bunnies were all rescued.

I chose adopted, altho I don't have my own dog right now.I foster for a rescue organization tho.And when I do decide to have a dog full time, I will be adopting!

All of the dogs we had throughout growing up came from ads in the paper.I guess that could sort of be rescuing as you never know who could of ended up with them or what would of happened to them if we never got them.

We adopted Loki and my parents usually rescued stray cats in the neighborhood. Though my first Rottie I did purchase from a breeder but I think from now on I will more than likely go to a shelter instead to rescue an animal. I've loved having Loki.

Dogs- Well.... Tonk was a rescue, Jasmine was a birthday present from a breeder because my other dachshund was put to sleep (she stopped eating when my mother passed away.), Mugzlee was bought from a dumb petstore. He was on "clearance" in an itty bitty glass enclosure with a little hole in the front that he licked my finger through. He was covered in his own poop and was just scared. I shouldn't have bought him but I was in tears. Spot, the pitbull, I got from my brother-- he had a litter of puppies and I was scared he was gonig to go to a bad fighting home so I took him in.

Cats- Meyette was a rescue as well as Gremlin. We bottle fed Gremlin-- he was brought to me covered in fleas.. looked like his skin was crawling. His eyes weren't even open... In that litter, one of the kittens passed away and the other survived and was adopted out.

Beta- Bubbles was bought 3 years ago.

The pig, and goats were bought from breeders.

The horse was bought from a horse trainer.

I am a strong believer in adopting animals whether it be from a shelter or off the street. We have also taken in and fostered dogs, cats, chinchillas, and a duck.

Both. We got Molly from a rescue when she was 8 months old, and we got Lucy from a breeder. Whether or not it was a good breeder is still to be decided.
