i know a woman who does dog grooming from her home. she used to work at a few places in the past as a groomer at shelters, etc.
well, she called me yesterday to see if i could help. i, at the time didnt know she did dog grooming. i said yes, of course.
she picked me up this morning at six o clock and we had 5 dogs to groom. it too from about 7am to 1pm to compleatly finish. i really injoyed myself but one of the dogs was aggressive and we had to muzzle it. i basically had to hold it down and lay on top of it so she could clip its nails. it seemed VERY aggressive, but im the type of person who has no fear of a dog. i respect them, but not fear them.
anyway, i really injoyed myself! i was shown how to do a snowzer (sp) and a poodle cut (since those were two breeds we were doing) and the other two dogs were a border collie/cow mix that the owner wanted sheared and a rott
collie mix that she also wanted done short. i got some hands on expericance and did the rott collie mix all by myself. she was a very well tempered dog, so great for me to learn on. i am off work mostly on thursdays and thats the days she grooms!
she has back problems and cannot groom much without help, and since i can help we can groom together and work with serval dogs. i compleatly voluntered not even thinking of getting paid, yet she is going to pay me 10 bucks a dog. she only charges 30 a dog herself.
i am exited about this!!!! i am considering this as a career choice. i wonder if there is any schooling i need or if this hands on expericance is enought to get me into a grooming buisness
