I have a problem with Frank and Tabby. He completely freaks out about her. I keep them separated b/c I don't want to stress her but I doubt it would. Nothing stresses her and she loves everyone she meets. I too wish that they could all get along. Unfortunately, Tabby is a very old bunny and I don't think that it would work out b/c she would never be able to get away should something happen.
If I amm evver lucky enough to have another bun I would want the dogs to get along with the bun.
Good Luck with you kids. Maybe you will give me advise one day.

Allie found the hippity-hop
*sigh* i knew it would happen eventually, Allie has finally made her way into the office for the first time last weekend (it only took her 5 months to figure out she could go over there on her own) and shes made plenty of trips from her area in the living room and back.. which is great for her i suppose.. exercise wise, i love to see that she can make her way around the house on her own if she really wants to.
and aparently she wants to sit in the office and whine and growl at the rabbit.. The rabbit by the way is safe behind a wall of NIC grids. He doesnt seem to care one bit that she sits there and whines and growls.. the rabbit actually came up to the gate to see what all the fuss was about, then played with a few of his toys, and makes sure to mark all his boxes with his chin. Hes now playing in his hay box, while allie sits here and whines.. my problem, of course.. What do i do? we tryed using the spray bottle on Allie, wetting her when she makes a fuss, but in the case of the rabbit she jus doesnt care. Should i jus let her sit there and whine? as long as the rabbit doesnt seem stressed? or should i be correcting her somehow? i would like some day for the 2 of them to be ok, this i know will be hard for allie, being a jack russel.. suggestions?
im not really sure if this should be posted in the dog or rabbit forum, but since im asking for dog advice i suppose i'll post it there.

Tucker whines at the degus sometimes, but only every now and then. Tucker "talks" more than he barks, though, and sometimes his talking sounds a tad like whining, so I really don't know if he is whining or talking to them. We don't correct him because he doesn't every try and hurt them (not that he could get to them), he just likes to sit near them and talk.
As long as the bunny seems fine with it, I wouldn't worry too much. Allie doesn't know who/what the bunny is, so she is probably just concerned. Once she gets used to seeing the bunny and knows that it belongs there and won't hurt anyone, maybe she'll calm down? Tucker doesn't talk to the degus nearly as much as he used to, so maybe Allie will do the same.
If you think it is safe, maybe you can pick the bunny up and show her the bunny and let her sniff it. If the "meet", it might help? She'll see that the bunny won't hurt her and there is nothing to be afraid of. Though I would recommend doing it when someone else is there with you, and with Allie on a leash so that if she freaks, she can't hurt the bunny. If one person is holding Allie, and she is on a leash for added security, and another person is holding the bunny, it should be safe. Hold the bunny close and be prepared to turn around and turn your back to Allie if she doesn't like the bunny.
Can she see the bunny or does she just know it is there by sound/smell? (I don't know what NIC grids are, so I can't visualize the setup.
Good luck!

Off topic, but what's Allie like, personality wise? Lucas and I were talking about Jack Russell's just last night. They are so cute, and I was asking him if he'd ever want one someday (not anytime soon, of course. 3 is enough). I don't know much about them, though.

Allie isnt really typical Jack-russel, as she was born with some problems with her legs and stuff.. But her mom and sister.. Are full of energy and waaay to smart for there own good.. Allies mom would play fetch all day.. well forever if you let her, they actually had to hide the ball when they were done playing.. have to be careful where you hide it tho cuz they find it! Also you have to have a fenced in yard, and even then you cant leave them outside alone, they are hunting dogs at heart and there nose will get them lost. (allie mom annabell got out of the yard and was hit be a car )
There really great dogs, if you have the time and energy to keep up with them. Allie's sister jus had puppies and he wants one, but i personally dont think i could handle a real full of energy jack russel. If you do decide to get one i suggest adopting on from a shelter tho, cuz alot of people get them expecting them to behave like Wishbone and end up having to give them up.
When we first got allie i went to this site alot. http://www.terrier.com/ Theres a chat room on there where people are always willing to tell you about there dogs.
