Allie No!

OK davids parents recently adopted a blonde beagle the day before thanksgiving, not really sure on her age, the woman we got her from said 5, but her shot records say 3. shes very sweet and a bit timid, anyway, the other day david took allie over there to meet her, and allie started a fight, how would the best way to introduce them? the begal seems to just want to play, but allie goes after her. any suggestions?

Try letting them spend time together in a neutral setting, like a park or something like that. If Allie is used to spending time over at their house, she may see it as an extension of her territory, making the beagle feel like an intruder. Maybe in a more neutral setting, she would feel like she had to defend her extended family's home?

Not sure if that'll work or not, but it's where I'd start if it were me.

Lesson: Remember to take time to think about what's truly important. Oh, and give your pets a hug.

i think that had alot to do with it, that and the way they were introduced was a big mistake, me and david were bringing groceries in his moms house, and left allie outside to potty until we were done, well, davids brother, trying to help brought allie in the living room, so we me and david came out of the kitchen the beagle came with us, and kinda ran up to allie to see who she was, and they started to fight, allie started it, i know she did. and today we took her over there again, cuz we were just stopping by, we kept allie outside and let them see eachother threw the glass door thinking it might help settle allie down some, but it didnt, she kept trying to bite at the door. i think maybe next weekend we will try to take them to the park together

I would also keep them both leashed at all times during introductions so if anything starts you can quickly correct the offender. It is important to not let them get too crazy. Once they reach a freinzy it's harder to get them back under control.
Good luck. I am sure that with patience they will get along. It is so nice that your family adopted a new "baby"!
