An expensive trip to the vet
Well, Pooters, Katie, and Nina have been having problems lately with their health. Nina and Pooters have had vomiting and diarrhea, and Katie has had vomiting and just hasn't acted right lately. Katie has been laying around a lot and acting very sore, though we couldn't pinpoint where the pain was originating from. So we took them all to the vet today. They did fecals and bloodwork on all of them. The results of the bloodwork won't come back until tomorrow. They also did X rays on Pooters and Katie. Pooter's xray showed that his gallbladder is enlarged. Katie's xray showed she has a HUGE amount of gas in her intestines, particularly the small intestines. They gave Pooters some medicine to help flush the bacteria out of the gallbladder. The vet is very concerned about Katie, but can't give us any more information until the blood tests come back. With this bill, and my hospital bill from last week, it'll be another year and a half until I can move out of here.... I just hope my kids are okay.

I caught a urine sample on Pooters and took it up there today. I also took Katie back up for an anti inflammatory shot. They wanted to rule out diabeties, renal failure, and a few other things before giving it to her. Her bloodwork came back fine. So did Nina and Pooters. I guess the shot has helped her. She's been passing some serious wind since about 20 minutes after she got the shot. I'm still not feeling good though. I don't feel like doing anything.

I hope they are all okay. Are they looking at something they all could have eaten? Hopefully it is just a stomach virus but it sounds like more than that.
I understand about the bills. We had Frank at the emergency vets two weekends in the row earlier in the year. And Penelope had to go back after her spay for pain meds and hydration. I budgeted for the spay but had not expected the extra visit. Oh well. They are worth it.
