Another update on Steel. Sad ending coming...
If you remember this thread.... http://www.paw-talk.net/forums/f9/up...eel-42284.html
Well, I was really looking forward to going to the lady's house, but then they decided for the lady to come get him on Friday. They lost her phone number that day and the lady didn't call. She called the vet and asked the vet to call her and ask the lady to call the owner of Steel, but she hasn't called. I think it's rude for the lady to just drop out like that. Hiedi, the owner, says, "I can't stand it anymore", referring to him and his barking. He's a little stubborn, but if you try he learns very quickly. She's taking him in very soon, and I'm frantically searching for a home for him. I've tried Petfinder, but nobody wants him. Someone, please just come see him...you'll fall in love!!

I am sorry to hear that.If the shelters are giving up trying to find a home,I am sorry...I have no advice.Thats just the sad truth these days,as there are many unwanted animals already and people try and find the "perfect" dog.

Is there no way she can take him to a no-kill shelter?

I would start trying rescues in your area or even not in your area just not to far from you. Or like Jane said a no kill. There has to be someone who will take him. Can you foster him until you can find home?? I would offer to help you but we are at opposite ends of the country and I can't have large male dogs b/c Reggie doesn't get along with them.

Shadows Gold, it's not too hard, you just drive down here and get him hehe.
I'll start searching for No-Kill shelters and rescues.

So the only problem with this beautiful dog is that he barks too much?? I can understand people not wanting to take on the risk or adopting an aggressive dog, but sometimes it really disgusts me how little work people are willing to put into their animals. Any dog can be trained not to bark inappropriately. It takes time and work, but dogs take time and work. Too many people out there want an animal that loves them desperately when they're in the mood, causes no trouble, and disappears into the background when they're busy with something else. He is lovely and I hope he finds a great home really soon.
