Anyone been to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park?

We are going on vacation to Gatlinburg, Asheville and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with our corgi at the end of the month. I have read the pet rules for the park and am slightly confused, as I have never been there once before: in the middle of winter when Clingman's Dome, and other areas, were inaccessable due to snow.

According to park rules, dogs are allowed on campgrounds, picnic areas, and paved roads. But not on hiking trails. Does anyone know if Clingman's Dome is considered a hiking trail? Has anyone ever taken a dog there, or noticed whether or not there was a "No Pets Allowed" sign?

After seeing a shepherd come in with a gunshot wound: "You know we pretty much just paid for Ein all over again." (Pats him on the head.) "I'd do it again if he needed us to."

Lesson: Remember to take time to think about what's truly important. Oh, and give your pets a hug.

I have no idea but you might want to try and find a phone number that you can call and ask them about it.

jewels is on a distinguished road
I've been to Gatlinburg and we noticed a few people with dogs. I'd call one of those tourism information places, they could give you the best idea.

Have fun!
