Bad Hair Cut
We took the dogs in to get groomed on Saturday and man we were surprised when we got them...Pup looks good, he got the pampered treatment, special shampoo, conditioner, teeth done, nails trimmed and all that...hes easy I mean hes a big dog we wanted shaved in prep for summer as always...
Then Lady...oh man what they did to my baby...we also paid for her to be pampered, all the stuff pup got...but with a cocker cut, they messed up so bad...they shaved a stripe down her back up to the back of her head...no fading no even lines...she looks so goofy my poor baby (I will post the pics tomorrow) she looks like she was asleep in the grass while Ken was mowing and he got her with the mower lol its bad...they told us they did Cocker cuts all the time and that they were very good at it and so on...they acted surprised when I complained about how she looks...I am not kidding the poor little sweety looks silly as all get out...so we are on the hunt for a new groomer for her lol maybe they can at least straighten her out a little lol...and no I didn't pay for her, I did for pup though...
any other horror stories about bad haircuts or is sweet Lady all alone looking like a funky skunk or a balding man with hair only on the sides lol

I'm so sorry!! Both of my dogs have short fur so I have no "horror" stories...I really hope you find a better groomer soon,it's sounds funny But it's still not good though,I am really sorry
(I wouldn't have paid for the bad haircut either!!!)

I am glad you didn't pay for her. I also have had short haired dogs up to this point. We are going to have Jewel groomed just to get her spiffed up. I don't think she will need regular grooming though. Fortunately there is an awesome groomer right at our vet office. Plus they have punch cards to earn free grooming and nail trims. I hope you find a good one

Do you have a before and after picture?
My dad has a long haired mutt, Buck, who get matts all the time. He is an outside only farm dog. Anyway, I cut his hair some yesterday. He looks pretty pathetic, lol. I did it for comfort though, not for style.
I don't have long haired dogs, so I don't have any stories.

We used to have an Old English Sheepdog who would get matted if not kept groomed, but I couldn't stand the way they shaved them down, but liked how the sheepdogs looked after the shaved cut grew out a bit. So I used to cut our dogs hair with a scissors to get the look I liked. It took hours, but he would just lay there while I snipped away crazy I know- that was before kids, when I had alot of time.

lol...poor doggie. My parents have a cocker but they're to cheap to even take her to get her groomed, so my mom does it herself - she does horrable! Lol...I keep printing out pics for her and being like "see mom, this is what cockers are sapose to look like". I cut her fur sometimes and she looks so cute when I do it, but her fur grows so long it doesn't last long. My mom usually leaves her skirt long, but cut's the hair on her back/head/legs very very short, it looks stupid with the hair on her legs so short. Oh, and she has a mohawk

we had to put sun block on her so she could play outside on her poor bald spot...I just feel horrible for her...they just did a really bad job, we are looking for someone who specializes in cockers so she can get just a little straightend out...she cracks us up now cause she does look goofy but I just can't fathom how the groomer saw what they did and thought it looked good
lol she looks so sad

O. M. G. If they think that is a good cut, they should be going out of business soon. Poor girl! That is absolutely crazy!

I wonder what your new groomer will say when you find one.
Man, I would be so pissed off if I were you. Its just hair and it grows back, but for them to think that is acceptable is just plain stupid. Clearly the person who cut it screwed up. I guess they just thought you wouldn't notice. Yeah right.

My boyfriend's Great Pyr. was taken in to be groomed awhile ago before he got really bad (he's getting close to his time). They said they wanted him cut short since he was having bowel control issues and he gets hot easily. When my future MIL picked him up, he was cut like a POODLE!! He was shaved everywhere, but they left him with the long hair on his head and a big poof ball on the end of his tail! He looked so pathetic, but it did help take some of the weight off of his joints. His mom later cut the poof off but it was bad. I'll have to see if i can get a pic of it. Bill took one on his cell phone so i'll have to try to get it on here. This happened mid to late fall when it was still really hot around here.

I think we may have found a groomer...we are going to go there tomorrow and check out the place...she also wants to see how short the stripe is, I told her its like gone, but she says if its really bad (she hasn't seen it yet) then we may need to let it grow out a little to fade down because there is no way I want her all the way shaved, not in the sun
