you don't want to bathe them too much. you'll dry out their natural oils in their coats. during the summer, when my dog is out, i bathe her once a month. depending on how dirty she gets. so, sometimes i bathe her every other week. but during the winter when she's in the house, i bathe her if it's absolutely necessary. (i live in colorado) because i live where it's cold.

They are old enough to be bathed, but you don't want to do it when the weather is cold.

If they are in dire need of a bath i'd make sure the house is nice and warm, bath them in the tub, and make sure they are completely dry before going outside.

I agree with Sye! Once a month is enough!! Regular brushing helps remove any loose dirt and stimulates the oils in their coat, rather than stripping it out. It doesn't matter what I use on my dog she gets dandruff so she gets washed hardly ever. After she's gone to the beach we just throw a couple of buckets of water over her and that's generally her bath. She's an inside pooch and only has that doggy smell when she has dandruff. I only bath her once every three months or so! We just wash her bedding every week and brush her every week (she's a staffy so she has short hair) and do spot cleaning (muddy paws etc.) It works for us!
