Biscuit update

Just wanted to let you guys that have been following me with Biscuit's noise problem how we were going. Well the first night in the bathroom she spoke for an hour and a half....the next night I did give her a kong with peanut butter (not frozen) and she made no sound and now she makes no noise in the bathroom of a night time at all! We're still working on outside but she is getting much better and I've been giving her chickn necks, waiting for a minute after she has finished it and then running outside and praising her and letting her back in again. I am also going to book her into a dog manners course but it looks like I won't be able to get her in until June but I still want to take her anyway. Just wanted to let you guys know that she is learning quickly. Oh I'm not putting her outside to sleep until she is quiet in the bathroom either and we will start her off with early bed times so that if she does she won't annoy the neighbours! And we'll only let her go for half an hour and then bring her inside again and keep trying until she stops.

Glad to hear that.... Maybe she'll just stay quiet & you won't have to worry about it.... June huh? That sucks, is there any other obedience class you can get her into? I've always heard that it's best to get a new dog into an obedience class ASAP.... (I might be wrong though)

The only problem is that I have a lot of stuff on at night and I'm going away when the next class starts which is why it's so long. This is the only obedience training that runs at times when I am free. The vets that I work at are very into training so I ask them about training tips for her and so I make sure I'm doing things properly. It's a pain but I'm getting the timetable sent to me so I might be able to get her into something else. At least she does learn quickly so I'm not going to have major problems up until I get her into training!

Well she had a bad night on saturday night but she was locked in the bathroom at 7:20pm and I cme home at 11:30pm and I was bad and I fussed over her...naturally she didn't want to go back to sleep and I fell asleep to her talking and woke up to it as well. I left the bathroom window open that night and the neighbour heard her but they said that she did stop. Since then she has been fine. She is the final thing to do for the night and I turn all the lights off in the house except the bathroom, and hallway light (the hallway light is dim too) and I tell her goodnight and she lays down and doesn't make any noise at all. Outside she is getting better at the noise thing but she still isn't great but I don't put her out there for long by herself so the neighbours haven't complained about her. I'm getting her into a May course now which is much better!!

Thanks formula!! She is currently quite happy sitting on her bed in the bathroom where as before she would only stay there if the door was shut...she's getting clever!

Sounds like you are doing good with your training. I am happy for you. I think Biscuit is learning what makes mommy happy.

I am glad it is going good for you.
