Cataracts?

We have noticed in the last few weeks that our German Shepard's (Bach) eyes are looking cloudy. We have an appt to take him to the vet next week. But I was just wondering if anyone here has ever dealt with this....Is there anything they can do if it is cataracts? Is cloudy eyes one of the signs?

I have a 13 year old dachshund that has cataracts, they can do surgery to remove them. The vet recommended that we not do the surgery because of the dangers of anesthesia and her age.

My dog, Brandy, also has them. She is a Golden Retriever and is 14 and definately too old for the surgery. She gets around her back yard just fine though. We grew up together and it is hard to see her get old.
