Which kind of mange does she have? My foster puppies have sarcoptic (sp?), but luckily I caught it early, so they have only lost a little hair and only required two dips. They are Aussie mixes, so they couldn't have the Invectin (?) either. What kind of dips is she having? The vet here just said to use regular pyretherin, but I would have thought they'd need something stronger.
I'm glad she's doing so much better! Are the dips helping her not itch so much? My babies feel much better after the baths and dips. How fast did it develop with Colleen? The puppies were itchy for a while before they actually started getting visible mange...I could only see it for a few days before we went to the vet, but in those 3 or 4 days, it progressed quickly! They went from zero hair loss and just a little bit of red skin on their tummies to big clumps falling out and big raw places. One of them scratched her shoulder til it had a big open sore. They are still scratching, but not nearly as bad. Any tips for helping them STOP scratching? If they'd just quit, they'd get better so much faster. They also scratch each other, which doesn't help.
How much longer does Colleen have til she's all better? Has she had mange before? Once its gone, is it likely to come back? What about your other dogs? Sorry I'm all questiony, I've never had a dog with mange before.
Hope Colleen keeps doing well and feeling better! Poor love.

She looks so good! And I just have to say - she has THE longest nose EVER! Hahahaha!
Mel - If you search for one of the earlier threads on Colleen, you'll find some info. I asked some of the same questions you did.

As a mini-update, when I dropped her off at the vet today for her dip, the groomer was so pleased with how good she's looking. She couldn't believe how much better she looks already.
I'm going to try and talk with the vet when I go to pick her up tonight, but if he's busy with an appointment, I'll have a chance to talk to him this weekend. Tucker is due for his annual exam/vaccinations on Feb 6th, so I made an appt to take him in at lunchtime on Saturday.
PS: Mel, I sent you a PM with some info.
