I swear I'm signing Mirra up for Crate Dependancy Annonymous.
Since Jeff's Aunt and Uncle are here for the next 6 weeks he's been booted out of the cabin and has to stay on his boat. Kind of like camping only it's on the water.

Anyway, Mirra and I usually stay with him on the weekends so I hauled our bag of stuff and her crate to the boat. I quickly figured out that her crate doesn't fit down inside the cutty cabin (which I already knew) and it didn't fit inside the upper part of the cabin between the captain's and passenger seats. Well, I would much rather leave all of my credit cards, cash, and ATM card (along with my PIN number) laying out on the back of the boat than to leave my dog in her crate out there. No problem, Mirra can sleep in the cutty with us.
Jeff went to bed early due to being up for 40 hours straight and having a screaming headache. Mirra and I decided to go to bed about 1 am. It was such a beautiful night and it's so peaceful at the harbor. Anyway, it's time for bed. No problem, Mirra can sleep in the cutty with us. WRONG! First off she jumped on the bed and licked Jeff's face, then jumped on me and licked my face, chewed on the blanket and then jumped off the bed. I had the cutty door closed so she couldn't escape. She whined and cried and carried on. I thought maybe she had to potty one more time before she went to sleep so I got up and took her to the dog run and then we went back to bed. She jumped on the bed, licked Jeff's face some more, bit his ear, pulled the blanket off of him, jumped on me, ect. Then she jumped down and whined, cried, howled even though I tried to reassure her it was ok, we were all there. Nope, not working. I put her in the crate and she layed right down and closed her eyes. What the heck?!
There was no way I was leaving her out there so I brought her back in the cutty this time with her blanket that she sleeps on in her crate. Same scenario of whining. I said "Mirra, just pretend this is one big huge crate that we're all sleeping in!"

Apparently she doesn't understand English all that well.
I managed to wedge her crate between the captain's and passengers seat with her door a few inches away facing the cutty door. I think the crate was about 4 inches off the floor, but hey, it worked and she was close enough that I wouldn't have to worry about someone taking her. The crate was wedged in so well that no one could get her without me knowing it! In she went and went right to sleep.
I think someone loves their crate too much and needs to go to Crate Dependacy Annoymous!
