Actually I used to have a sticker in the window (well dad did upstairs)...but thats long gone . My dogs aren't aggressive, but I still prefer to let people know I have 2 small dogs inside...just in case they are scared,or whatnot.
I do want another sign.
I have a " Beware Live Reptiles" sign,& one for the tarantulas...got a cockatiel crossing sign too...I gets all mine off eBay.
Here's a sign I found on eBay lately
Beware of Dog
Cat Can't Be trusted Either
The linksie: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Beware-of-dog-Cat...d=p3286.c0.m14
P.S. You can get Beware of Friendly Dog,Dog Xing,& Dogs live here signs as well.(Thought I mention that...some people seemed put off by the "beware". )

I would hate to assume that my dog would never bite. I don't think anybody can be sure that their dog won't bite. I think given the right situation and the right person, ANY dog could bite.
My mom's dog is the most gentle dog ever but he HATES the postman. The postman has done nothing to the dog and has even given him treats. Every time he gets near my mom's dog, he snaps at him.
My Loki (RIP) was the sweetest dog ever and loved everyone. One time my stepsister had a birthday party in my mom's back yard. There was one kid there the Loki did not like. He would growl and bark and nipped at the kid a few times. Loki had never seen that kid before.
Even the dog I have now, Killer..I have never seen him growl at anyone, until the other day when he met my boyfriend's friend. This girl went to pet him (he was wagging his tail) and Killer just started growling at her and didn't stop all night.
So having a Beware of Dog sign might save you in the long run from the "just in case" scenarios. Your dog might NEVER bite anyone but if they do you can say you had a sign posted.

"Beware of Dog" would make a GREAT bumper sticker.
everyone knows that there are only 3 reasons why there would be a sign like that on a fence.
1) either they actually have a killer dog and want people to be legally informed
2) they want people to be scared away from their yard but don't have a dog to protect them
3) they have a teeny tiny Chawawa and are being cute.
but i think a bumper sticker would get tons of laughs. :-)

Little dogs can be quite mean! I think mostly because it is corrected a lot less, as aw it won't get big it can't hurt anyone... kind of attitude. I am much more learry of a little dog.

No beware of dog signs because our dogs are the goofiest clowns in the world. BUT -- I take precautions with the yard and whatnot, for security's sake. Ours and the dogs.
The gate has a padlock on it and the fence is a 6' block wall. Good luck getting into my yard with or without a sign. Better luck getting out in one piece if my hubby catches you back there when you shouldnt be. LoL.
The only beware signs we have are the ones for the bearded dragon that passed away in Sept. "Beware of Bearded Dragon" and "Beware of Attack Dragon" They hung over his vivarium.

I put yes because we do have a sign, just not exactly beware of dog, because I was told it would bring up legal issues if one of my girls bit someone. My sign says Beware guard dog on site. The reason for this was that my neighbors have rowdy kids and have been caught throwing sticks, and stones at my dogs when they are out potty. Animal control won't do a **** thing about it so I asked my Lawyer what I could do in case one of these kids get bit doing stupid stuff like this? I was told get a guard dog sign but not beware of dog.
Most of the time I go out with my girls but when you have a 2 yr old screaming, a 2 month old spitting up all over you and 2 dogs that want out...well...then they go out themselves, my yard is fenced and my opinion is if they know how to do something so stupid as to intimidate, anger, or attempt to hurt my dogs. Then they deserve to be bitten.

Living in Chicago, where stupid teenagers are a dime a dozen, I have a No Trespassing, Private property sign on each gate.
Having a German Shepherd and two Rottweilers, I also got "Guard Dog on Premises" signs with pictures of their breeds. I did some calling around to make sure that IF my dogs ever bit, as long as it was on my property in my fenced in yard I would not be liable. We used to have teenagers hop our fence and pound on our sliding glass back door at 3 in the morning. That stopped once we had Apollo (120lb. Rott) sleep downstairs a couple nights and meet the teenagers at the door.
My dogs would NEVER bite someone. They are all Canine Good Citizen Certified and would only lick you to death. But they do bark and stand assertively when they see people.
Also, my gas meter majigger is in my back yard and the meter reader dude would just let himself in without knocking on the front door first, and once my Rott and GSD were both in the back yard when he let himself in. They charged him and knocked him down, and only licked and wagged their tails, but still, the guy looked like he was gonna pee his pants.
Since we got our guard dog signs, the meter reader dude comes to the door first
