Dog Friendly Weed Killers & Fertilizers?

Does anyone know if there are any either liquid or dry weed killers and/or lawn fertilizers that are completley safe to use in a backyard where dogs are? I would really like to kill weeds and fertilize back there, but I'm afraid because I don't know if they would be toxic to my puppies if they either ingest it, or walk in it and then lick their paws later.....anyone?
