Ein had this one, for anyone who is shopping for a car harness. We chose this particular one because we thought the fleece padding would make it more comfortable. It doesn't have any space for the dog to move, though, so we also bought a little strap thingy from Petsmart that is used to hook regular dog harnesses to a seatbelt. I figured with that long of a drive, he ought to at least be able to lay down. I have no clue what the other thing is called, but it's basically just a strap that has a loop on one end (for the seatbelt to go through) and a hook at the other end to attach to the harness. It looks kinda like this , but it's not that exact one.

After seeing a shepherd come in with a gunshot wound: "You know we pretty much just paid for Ein all over again." (Pats him on the head.) "I'd do it again if he needed us to."

Lesson: Remember to take time to think about what's truly important. Oh, and give your pets a hug.

Both of my dogs have seat belts and car seats. They're great. They don't jump around in the car, and if I were to have a wreck, they will be safer. I'm planning on getting two of those grids to put in the windows so they can't jump out of the window, but I can still have the windows down for them. I can just see them hanging out of the window by their seat belts...lol

I have yet to do heavy research on this topic, but we are getting a greyhound in July and I'd like to strap him in too. I'm guessing most pet stores sell the belts? (I'm in Canada) Also, does anyone know where the bars are sold to fit in the upper half in the back of cars....so you can leave them in the back area of an SUV without strapping them in? I thought that the belts were laws in some areas....
