"Dog Warden took 'em"
WHAT??? this is crazy.
Well okay okay, I'm skipping ahead, so lemme start from when I woke up.
I went to the bathroom, and I saw out the window that the dogs pen door was latched, so they must be in it. A few minutes after no movement, I tapped on the window to get their attention. No dogs....
Next I went to the basement and they weren't in their cages, so I put on my mom's shoes that don't fit and walked to the pen... I at first was thinking someone stole them since the door was latched, but then I look at the corner and there is this huge hole.
My intial reaction was Ooooh myyyy gooood. I started booking it up the driveway hollering "Auuddreeeeey, Gretaaaa"... then this city worker (they're a couple houses down working in a lot) and he says to me, "Hey those two Rott's were yours?" I was like yeah they were, where are they? He tells me, "Yeah well the Dog Warden took 'em. City workers were complaining and they had tags but no one was home." I was like, "Yes I was home! I was just sleeping!" They must not've knocked hard enough or even tried the doorbell.
Well yeah I called my mom and she had me call them and I hadda call the receptionist/secretary lady twice and she was giving me this attitude like, "I just talked to you, and I have better things to do." Which didn't help me in my hysteria. Well anyways, I guess to get them back we have to give close to 15 bucks which ain't bad, but still.... Thats not what I'm worried about.
What I'm worried about is the Dog Warden himself. This guy is a jerk.... I once saw him on the news claiming that American Bull Dogs were the same thing as Pit Bulls. And that a 7 month old American Bull Dog puppy was vicious, just for sitting on a bench in his fenced yard.
Having two Rottweilers... though they are big teddy bears ...I'm a little worried.
My mom and me are going to pick them up at noon.... I'll let you know what happens.

I'm sorry that you had to go through all of that crap, but on the plus side, they are safe right now instead of wandering around with the risk of getting hit on the road. I'm sure they will be fine.

I'm glad your dogs are safe. I don't see a need to worry about the dog warden unless you think they did something bad when they were loose. He shouldn't make any trouble for you, probably just tell you to fix their enclosure so they can't get out.

We got them back and your right, its better that they were brought in and not out wandering. (Although the other construction worker guys said the street sweepers were the ones complaining, not them.) The construction guys said they were good dogs, they just sat around watching them work. LOL...
well okay, I'll write more about what all happened and the rude lady at the desk....
But right now I got class and I gotta go.

And yeah Mal, Im glad they are home now. And just so everyone knows, the warden in Toledo is a big creep. He HATES pitt bulls and anything that looks like them, which he has stated to many people, and I believe on the news before. Which is completley rediculous to say that, because all dogs are a making of their owner, not the breed. It doesnt matter what kind of dog you have, it all depends on how you treat and train your dogs. He is a real jerk, and will come door to door, to see if you own a Pit, or any other "vicious" breed, and make sure they are licsenced, and on your home owners insurance, or else he will take your dog right there, which is understandable to a limit, but he doesnt take this kind of action on other breeds..."nicer" breeds. So just so you all know, Mal wasnt over reacting too much, since the guy is a real pain in the butt.

Ms.Redd, thats great to here you got them back and they are ok, even though dogs are nice and or well trained the dog warden- catcher does take to mind that all dogs are dangerous unless other wise proven buecause thats there job and they never know when a dog is nice or not and they could put them selfs at risk thinking oh nice doggie and then get hurt real bad.. but its great they are ok.. Im not saying that he was nice im just saying its part of there job.. And by no means am i sticking up for dog catchers..

Yeah thanks Melissa. I really wasn't overreacting there, swear.
Well anyways, yesterday my mom took a long break from her Kitchen College class and we went to get the girls from the Dog Warden.
We walked in and the lady "Jessica" who was the only one in the room totally ignored us. We stood for a couple seconds before my mom said, "We're here to pick up our dogs that got loose."
"Jessica" goes, "Have you identified them?" My mom and me were thinking huh? And my mom said something like, "We just walked in the door..." Jessica rolled her eyes at her and said, "Have you been back there yet to i-DENT-ify your dog?" Jessica hasn't even looked at us yet, ... she was too busy drinking a juicebox (once she got off the phone). My mom clarified again how we JUST arrived and continued on to say they're two Rottweilers.
Still not looking at us, Jessica motions her hand in the air and tells my mom to fill out the chart. My mom does so, I watch. Then we stand there again, waiting for what we're suppose to do next, which we assume is "i-DENT-ify" our dogs. After a minute, my mom got fed up with this woman and goes, "I need to identify my dogs, so I just go through here right?" and point to the gate leading into the long hallway. Jessica looks at my mom like she's a total idiot and says "You have to wait," and then looks away again.
Well we stood around for a good five minutes. The place was dead. My mom went to the bathroom, I looked at the posters of abandoned dogs and missing dogs and graduated service dogs.... My mom came back out and another couple minutes go by..... I said to the wall, "Come on already....."
Finally two people come to escort us in identifying the girls, and we follow them. The one lady turned around and said alright, which one of you is coming? I looked at my mom as if saying "isn't both of us following a good indication we both are coming?" and so my mom says to her, We both will. Politely the woman says only one of us is allowed. I don't understand why and neither did my mother, but she went in and I stayed behind. After a couple minutes, they walked back out... no dogs still. I guess we had to do the paperwork first....
I don't even know how long it took this Jessica lady to fill out the papers....... But when she finally finished, she gave us two citations for having two dogs running at large. Okay okay, wait a second. I asked her over the phone earlier what all fines/fee's there was going to be. She rambled off BOTH times, "4 dollars for *this* 2 dollars for *that* and 1.50 for *that.*" That was all she told me, no tickets, just get your dogs. Yeah, she must not listen very well.
Anyways, we got the girls FINALLY, and went home.
Earlier when I had told my mom about Jessica's rudeness over the telephone when I called back, she didn't believe me and said I was just overreacting because I was a little shaken up. ... As we drove away my mom called this woman an unpleasant word.

Well anyways, Since we're going to have to do stuff to the kennel/pen before we let the girls into it again, we knew we had to do something. We invited Ben over to help install a door in the dogs room. This way, when I'm showering for school and stuff, the girls dont have to be locked in their cages, and they'll get more room. It took from 8:30 until close to one to cut this door down and get it installed, plus we had to run to Home Depot for hinges and a latch.
I'll take a picture of it in a minute; its not a full size, and the room itself we still need to finish,.... (I'm going to paint the walls and my mom is going to put a shelf up, ... we're thinking about stacking the cages, so that way there is more room to play as the room isn't THAT big.... I also wanted to put down some carpet.... I'll see what I can do... Any color scheme ideas? Or cute themes to paint onto the wall, like paw prints??)
