My 9 month old puppy pee's out of excitment I don't think she means to 'cause she's a sweetheart...but it's making a mess! She's the sweetest little girl and we love her to pieces but she can be pretty messy and gassy also...we think she might have a lazy sphincter(sp?)...I don't even know if thats possible, but I notice when I'm grooming her that it's not always completely shut and it seems like she's having a five minute fart sometimes.I know it sounds really gross, but boy does she have some power!!! Anyone have similar situations? or suggestions?

Was she fixed really young? My dog Daisy just leaks a little pee sometimes and the vet said that can happen if they're fixed when they're really young. (The shelter spayed her at 8 weeks.) There's a pill she has to take once a day to help.

On the excitement pee, that's pretty common in puppies. Trainers recommend that you wait to greet them until they're calm.

Oh my gosh! She was spayed at 8 weeks!? Why so young!?Thats way too young to be spayed, they are not even fully developed then!

I know, I couldn't believe it either. The shelter needed to find homes for the entire litter, and she had to be fixed before they'd let her go. We didn't get her until she was 11 weeks. I wish she could have had those extra 3 weeks.

Awww...poor puppy, but at least she is in a good home now.

Sometimes I question the way shelters do things...
