Good luck Linda...I sure hope Jack is ok and just recovering from last nite...I do gotta say he is such a smart boy to go on the puppy pads! He should get an extra treat for that one...even if he did saturate it, at least he tried haha...what a good boy he must be.

And also, I have never tried the rescue remedy on me yet...but Im sure I will eventually get in a situation where I'll need it...haha...I hope they carry it down there for you...it works great for Har...she isnt afraid of storms...just strangers...but Vicky said a lot of her customers use it for storms.

Take your baby to the vet if he doesnt get back to normal soon...I hope everything is ok. You arent a weenie for worrying.

Ohh no Linda, poor Jack! How is he feeling now? Give him a hug from me and a hug for you, too. I hope everything is ok.

Ya! I figured you would know just what I was talking about, girl! Isn't it the weirdest thing? Started storming a little bit ago all the sudden! Brad called, "Is it raining there?" I said "No, it's sunny" Then... 5 min later, starts getting black out side!
Oh! By the way, what is Rescue Remedy? I haven't heard of it before.

Jackie first off...we have weather like that too!! You literally watch the storm coming to you! I love it!!
Second off rescue remedy is a herbal relaxer. It works wonders!!! If we have clients that are nervous about having their dog operated on we give them a cold drink with some rescue remedy in it and they always want to know what we gave them cause they calm down straight away!!!
Linda I hope everything is ok with Jack...let us know how he goes! I'm sure he'll be fine!

Well here's the update Jack is fine - totally normal - and the weirdest thing happened today! (as if yesterday wasn't the weirdest )

It was another brutally hot, humid day - a late afternoon storm blew through. The sky turned black within a matter of minutes and the TV pixelated from the interuption of the satelite signal - I knew it was going to be bad!

Jack knew too! He assumed "the position" in front of the stereo speaker - BOOM! Loud clap of thunder - and he started shaking just like yesterday. I walked over to him and he rolled belly-up. At the same time Max and Remy did what they did yesterday! They ran to him and licked his face.

I wasted no time today and grabbed a 1mg Ativan tablet and pilled him. My daughter came into the room from downstairs, picked up 2 Booda Rope Bones ... Jack and Max RAN to her each grabbing a bone and they started tugging. One dog attached by a rope to each of her hands! They looked like they were going to split her like a wishbone... tug her shoulders out of the sockets!

The distraction totally worked! Old Jack may be having some bad days but he can still drag Max around the room during a Booda-tug! My daughter declared "Mine" and both dogs dropped the rope from their mouths - she threw the ropes on the floor and Jack ran to grab "his". He invited Max to play and they tugged around the room for about 20 minutes, growling and playing with each other while the tiny Remster jumped at the middle of the rope between them

Two short but loud storms passed within an hour. Jack was laying on the tile floor NOT panting a bit - even after the rough play. He went outside with Max just like any other day. No accidents... just normal old Jack!

*whew* If you have been reading my saga thanks for hanging in there with me. It means so, so much to know you guys are always there for me!

I don't know why I don't always remember things I have learned A little distraction really does go a long, long way!
