female poodle question

I have two female poodles (toy poodles) and my one female went into heat at 6 mths of age. My other female is going on 9 mths of age and still has not gone into her first heat. Should I be worried and notify the vet or just wait? The book I bought about poodles said that they generally go in heat anywhere from 6 to 8 mths of age. I just hope nothing is wrong with her!

i'm not sure about this one, but i'm sure if you just called the vet, someone there could tell you whether or not to be worried.

Hi again nkrz,

We have 3 female poodles in the family, Camila, Franky and Loli, in our experience, the first heat comes from age 6mths to 12mths so I think is early to be worried about that...

If you are too worried, just call the Vet. I'm a first time puppy Mommy & I called the Vet & my breeder many times when Elvis was little.
