Cool

For su2nz (& others!)

Here's a picture of Tibby, my ruby-colored Cav. Or I should say my husband's, because she only tolerates me if he isn't around. She was rescued from a puppy mill almost 2 years ago (which makes her almost 4 now). She was nothing but drab, lifeless hair and bone when we got her, with a urine stain we thought would never come out of the white blaze on her chest, and never thought we'd be rid of the odor either. She had never walked on grass, never run free, and obviously had been mis-treated by a woman. She sleeps every night wrapped around my husband's head, snores like a big man, has gained more than enough weight. Still a bit skittish with strangers, but the love she has for Bubba more than makes up for that. She's allowed to run hide - she paid the price! (She had never been bred but the woman she was rescued from was getting $2500 for Cavalier puppies - good old AKC!!)

Awwwwwwwwwwww

She is adorable! Critter-that brings up a good point (about the AKC) I don't register my poms with the AKC cuz of that fact. They register SO many puppymill puppies every year. And it's sooooo funny when other "AKC Breeders" inquire about my poms & when they find out that I don't use the AKC, they IMMEDIATLY assume that I have been 'banned' by the AKC..........

TeddyGraham -
I've talked to other CKCS breeders about the AKC problem, but not many breeders of other dogs. It's good to see that you know the problems with them too!

I remember the first "real" Irish Setter I say. I had always seen the gangly, thin-snouted, half-brained kind and was amazed to see that they should be big, square-faced, half-brained dogs!

Stick to your guns, Woman. I'm sure the word has gotten around that you have good Poms, registered with AKC or not.

(And regardless of the AKC issue, I'll still be watching to Westminister show in late February - although I've been told that it is the most political of all shows that they have!)
