Gunky eyes

Is it usual for Schnauzers to get big black chunks in their eyes.
It seems like we are picking it off his fur near his eyes every day.
And today his eyes looked quite red

The "eye boogers" (as I call them) are more common in some breeds than others. Kirby gets these DISGUSTING goopy brown ones while Seamus gets ones that are more like human ones--tiny and a little crusty-like.

I would say the eye goopies would be nothing to worry about as long as they aren't sealing the eye closed and are not procuded excessively.

As for the eyes being red, this I would be a little concerned about. It could just be from the dry weather this time of year and the pollens being released in the air, but you might want to have it checked out.

Indy might need eye drops if it's because of dryness.
