Hi Everyone! Pics of my baby and a few ?'s :-)

Hey everyone!

I'm new here, just looking to say Hi! and ask all of you experts a few questions! I will be bringing "Pheona", "Phe" for short, home on the 4th of October! Isn't she a cutie!? ;-)

Can't wait! Because she will only be 8 weeks, and I have to work during the day, I know that I can't expect her to hold her potty for 3-4 hours at a time after I leave back to work from lunch. I'm planning on baby gating the kitchen, and leaving her kennel open so she can get to her food and water, and puppy pads to go potty. Does this sound okay for an 8 week old? The most time she will be alone will be 4 hours at a time, but it upsets me :-( Wish I could be a stay at home mommy, but alas, I must work . I just want what's best for her, so any tips are appreciated! thank you!

to the forum. She is absolutely adorable.

I was home when we got Elvis Lee, but your plan sounds good. I would try to get her to go potty outside when you are home, start teaching that as early as possible. Praise, praise & more praise is key to potty training a puppy. Is she your first dog? Elvis is my first.

She may be a little confused by having the peepee pads, cause that gives the dog the message it is okay to go on the house.

Please post more pics when you can. How much does she weigh? Elvis was under 2 lbs when we brought him home.

Sounds perfect. one other thing to give you more peace of mind, you can put a board perhaps connect it to the babygate so's she can not climb over the gate. Pups do do that. Yorkies are very hard to potty train because of their small bladders. I know of people that ALWAYS keep potty pads down.
