Hiding toys..
Is there anyway to get a dog to stop hiding things?
Allie hides her milk bones, sometimes she'll go back and eat them, sometimes they will be there untill i get tired of stepping on them, or pretending not to see it, and have to pick it up..
Millie, Davids parents dog, hides all her treats, and certain shaped bits of food.. do you think its cuz shes doesnt like them? or likes them too much maybe? any ideas on how to stop her from hiding them?? His mom gave her a raw hide bone, which she seems to like.. but she wont chew on it, she jus wants to hide it, and she begs and begs to be let outside with it to hide it.. any ideas? She has one of those plastic off brand nylabone things, the kind with the spikie stuff in the middle.. which she'll chew on and there afraid shes getting too much off it.. and she didnt hide rope toys either, she jus riped them up, and they were afraid she was gonna eat the threads which is why they got her a raw hide, and now she wont eat it.. they jus keep finding it all over the house.. we bought her a kong and they stuffed it once and she hid it, never to be seen again!

maybe you could have a toy box or something for her to put things in and praise her for hidding things in there, and even get her to learn to pick up her toys

I caught my Maltese hiding his Greenies!
He goes and gets it when he is in the mood for a treat.
He goes behind the sofa and drops it, then nudges it under with his nose. He is nuts.
I caught on one day when I gave him one and it was gone a min later. NO WAY did he eat it that fast!
I spyed on him a while after that and then I saw what he was doing.
He doesn't hide his toys though.

ha ha ha that's too funny. coco does all those things!
sometimes if she's feeling independent, she'll go and hide 'em herself...EVERYWHERE...INCLUDING MY HAIR!!! Imagine having a stinky bully stick "buried" in your hair...
when she's not being independent...she'll whine and whine and then ends up giving it to me so I will hide it for her... And it has to be well hidden...otherwise, she'll beg for it back so she can give it back to me to hide again...
as with her toys? it's not unusual to find her teddy bears with its legs sticking out in a pile of laundry... lol
by the way...
i think bully sticks stink worst then dried squid. For a few days, everytime me and my sister laid in my bed, we wondered WTH smelled like dried squid. We couldnt find what the cause was... until CoCo started trying to "uncover" something... in my pillow!! She hid a freaking bully stick IN MY PILLOWCASE!!!
I was sleeping on it for days, wondering WTH the smell was!!
Talk about being gross!
