How I train my Black Labradore: Jasmen

Jasmen is my hearing dog witch I am training on my own. She is very hard to train for what I want her to be. Right now, She is trained to be a little human around the house. She has learned words I never have to repeat. I found Jasmen in danger of chasing cars when out side on her own. This is a farm road with many small trucks going in and out. What have done about this proves to be great training. I place a Cam that vews the road. When ever i see here from my TV chasing a car. I raise my voice and say where are you going. She stops in her tracks and comes to the house to get her slap from me. This did not take long to train her not to shase a car.

I hope I'm reading this wrong, when she comes to you, you hit her? If this is what you are doing you are confusing her, you told her to come to you then you punished her for doing what you asked. Instead praise like crazy when she does what you want even if she was doing something wrong before you called her to you. Unless she is on a leash where you can give her a collar correction when she is doing the action it's really hard to punish after the fact and ensure the dog knew what it did wrong.

What I do if say my dog got a container out of the trash and I found it on the floor, I will use the item to set the dog up to fail I will leave the trash can open with something yummy in it and have him with his collar on, then when he sticks his head in the trashcan he gets a correction. When he walks up to it sniffs and walks away he gets tons of praise.

Keritsubo will become famous soon enough
Hello, welcome! I have friends with hearing dogs. Do you take her to training classes for other hearing dogs?

My sign language group is always proud to see when the dogs get their new colored vests showing they graduated.

Oh, and yes as Mallory said, would love to see some pictures.
