I am a little worried can someone help!

I have a one year old male pitbull that I recently got fixed. It has been almost a month. He is a very happy puppy and is always full of energy so it was very hard to try and get him to relax after his surgery, but I thought he did an okay job because everything seemed to heal fine. Well today he was rolling around on his back and I noticed that his incision is swollen and red. It doesn't look like it is filled with puss or anything.. but I am worried and wondering if I need to take him to a vet? Like I said its been almost a month and everything seemed like it healed fine until now.. Thank you for any input.

***Also I forgot to add that the incision is closed, it isn't spilt open or anything. It is just red and swollen around where the incision was.

hmmm I would call the vet and talk it over with them. They will usually suggest better if you should take him in. Since it's been so long I would suggest calilng them ASAP!

I would take him to your vet ASAP. Our girl got an infection after we got her spayed. It was about a month after she was spayed. The incision was closed but there was a red swelling beside the incision. We took her back in. The vet put her on antibiotics and had us put hot packs on the swelling 3 times a day. She is ok now. Don't take a chance of a bad infection.

any time you have a worry after surgery, even a month later, you should call the vet, if something doesn't look right you should take them in to be on the safe side...I hope your little boy is ok, keep us up dated

Thanks! I just moved so I can't go to the vet we took him to get fixed at, so I guess I need to find a new one and get him seen just to be on the safe side. Thanks again
