I finally have my little GIRL!!

I am new to this but I tell you what I have learned alot reading through the posts. I have just adopted a Bichon she is a little girl which I have 4 boys so this a dream to me!! I can't wait to bring her home in 3 days. I adopted her from a shelter in Red Wing MN. I have rescued alot of dogs that were just days away from being put down. than I would find homes for them in the area. This is the first dog that we are going to adopt as ours because I have very bad allergies and the bichon is about one of the only dogs I can handle. It is so hard to find Bichon for adoption it was her mate and 5 puppies that came in on the 31st and by the 2nd they were all gone. We had found her on petfinders.com awsome place if your looking for a dog to adopt. Adoption RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aw, congrats! I almost got a bichon (before I got my yorkie). I still want one someday.

We went and got Emma on Tuesday it is now Thursday and she is doing OK. She acts very afraid of my husband (who loves animals more than anyone I know) and I can't get her to eat and she is on the same food she was eating at the shelter. She is drinking alittle water but has only peed once does anyone have any suggestions? I love her so much she is the sweetest dog!!!! Also I don't have digital camera and my scanner is down so it will be awhile before I can get pics up.

sounds like she is just having some adjustment problems, which is common for dogs in a new situation. I am sure you will give her the time and love she needs. Pics?
