I might be getting my dog tomorrow!!!

Which will be today by the time you guys read this!! We're driving down to Sydney tomorrow to have a look at a pure bred brindle Staffy that is in a foster home/shelter (the woman does it all from her house but rescues many dogs and is more like a shelter but it is run from her home) and apparently she is very social with people and other dogs (they put her in a cage with a really jumpy dog and she just let it be...excellent considering my mum's dog is old old old and they will be spending time together!!) and the woman also said that she is fairly obedient. Granted she hasn't had much time with her but she drove her an hour and a half back to their place without a harness on her for the car and she sat in the front seat and din't move the whole time!! She seems to be quite placid!! Anyway I'm going down tomorrow to look at her and watch her interact with the other dogs and me of course and assess her obedience levels and if she fits then she is coming home with me!!!! she is between two and three (so I'm going to say 2.5 so I can give her a birthday!) and they don't know what her name is which could be interesting but I'm going to call her Biscuit! I really really really hope that she is the one cause I know I'm going to be disappointed if she isn't right but the woman definently thinks she is worth the three hour drive (she lives right at the other end of Sydney) and even though I don't know this woman very well I know that she cares enough about her Staffy's to make sure they are homed properly and I don't think she'd waste her time with me. she said she has lots of Staffy's there right now but believes that this brindle is the one for me!!! wish me luck you guys and if she comes home with me then of course there'll be pictures!!!

Ok lets see if I can get this to work!!! These are pics that the woman sent me! Oh and yes she is home with me right now!!! It was a three hour drive home and she sprawled herself out on the back seat and slept the whole way!!! she is soooo sooo lazy!!! I threw her a toy at the shelter and she just looked at me as if to say 'you have to be kidding me' and plonked herself down on the cool cement!lmbo She knows how to sit is very quiet, doesn't jump, and walks well on a lead! She is also good with other dogs...her tail wags like crazy when she sees one!! all the dogs there are going through a stage of kennel cough at the moment and Biscuit doesn't have it at this stage but I was given antibiotics just incase!!! They think she's three so I'm just going with three and will decide on a suitable birthdate for her in a minute!! i literally just got home!!! I let her walk from the car to the house by herself to see what she'd do (she also knows how to come too which is very useful!) and she walked up the stairs to the front door and waited patiently while me and Alex walked in first and then waited for her invitation to come home! And she loves to have her belly rub!! As soon as she was out of her cage I gave her a pat and she plonked herself on the ground and rolled over for a big belly rub!!
Now let me see if I can get these pics to work!!! They aren't the best pics cause the woman just took them quickly but she is just adorable!! sh elooks like a big bull frog!!!lmbo

Just a quick question she has been sneezing some very loud, very snotty sneezes. Is this just normal for a Staffy and I'm being over protective or could it be the first sign of her kennel cough??

RS...she is so adorable, and sounds like she is going to be a great pet...and about the sneezing, since she was in a shelter with probably some other dogs, I would probably take her to the vet to get checked out. If it is kennel cough, it can be treated easily when you catch it early enough, but then again, she may just have a little cold. I would just call the vet and see what they think.

Well my vet is closed right now and will be for the rest of the weekend. I'll keep a close on her and if she starts sneezing more tonight or in the morning I'll ring the emergency vets and see what they say!!! I have antibiotics here ready to go if she does start so it will be caught early!! She is vaccinated also so it shouldn't get too be too bad. I think she's adorable too!!!

omg you guys this dog is perfect!!!! She was wandering around the house following me and alex like crazy when we first got her home ans she has been home for about an hour and a half only and is sleeping on her bed!!! She has stopped following and is very happy for me to come to her now! She is just so so clever......I just said to her on your bed and she walked over, plonked herself down and has been there for the last twenty minutes or so while I have been running around trying to clear up the mess in the house! I think Deja is going to have be comoeting with me now cause I think I might become as totally in love with Biscuit as she is with Remy!!!lmbo I'm going to take her for a proper walk when it cools down tonight and once she is awake to see how she goes on a full walk....if she passes that test then it will be official that this is the best dog ever!!lmbo
