Very cool but the one with just the head on the wall is a little creepy!

They were real.
Weird about some of the breeds though, like the Dogue de Bordeaux..totally diff than today. Wonder if its mislabeled or if it's changed so much, the standard I mean

Yes, they are real. Taxidermy (sp?), I believe.

Gross. Not fun to look at for me.

If they aren't real, are they pictures? I clicked on details and it said you could buy a 'print'. ???

Well seems like when you say search for "dogs"..there are many images of stuffed dogs, there are skulls, there are photographs, there are drawings..all different things that have dogs or are dogs.. So some of them you can buy prints of. But many are stuffed dogs..(taxidermy is correct )
I think it's interesting, in relation to some of the breeds now and then.

It's unnerving. that's what it is.
It's like finding stuffed people, dogs have been with us for so long, associated with us, living with us.
It's like seeing your relative stuffed in a museum.

I dislike taxidermy too...it is un-nerving as Fubie said...I hate it!

There is a stuffed Newfoundland dog in our muesuem here, as NL dogs represent our province.I have seen it and it is kind of creepy...

I think this is really interesting. It's kinda like the Bodies exhibit, but not as in depth and in detail. But those were humans anyways.
Do they have them on display?
