i was just talking to a friend about his dog and it was allergic to corn which is in just about every type of food, check with the vet though but it could be a possibility.

Children's benedryl works too. That's what my one vet told me to give shadow when he starts getting hot spots and scratching like crazy. You'll have to check with the vet for the dosage but I know it's safe for dogs because even the purina dog site lists it as an item to keep in your doggie first aid kit.

Maybe you should go to a pet pharmacy and ask if they have special cream to rub on your dog or you can go to a library and read about but it depends where it itches or find a vet that is very, very profficinal. That is all I have for you. Good Luck!
