I've been gone, but..
I have a good excuse, really! Okay, maybe not. I've been vacationing a bit more than normal, and we've added yet another puppy to my zoo Doxie was a wonderful gift, and I've become so close to her so quick. We were looking for a dachshund, and there she was. But we were touched by fate again about a month ago, with little Britta. My step mom's ex-sister in law is what you'd call.. rich. XD So rich that, when she got depressed, she bought a 900 dollar mini dachshund, Britta. After a day, she didn't want the puppy, and took it back to the pet store. She felt bad, for obvious reasons, and went back and got it. She already has 2 chihuahuas and a dachshund of her own, and she didn't want another, but she couldn't take her back. And so, Lisa was called with the offer. And along came Britta. Britta is about 5 months old and Doxie is almost two, and for awhile Doxie was acting like a big tough girl, but they're good buddies now. They both sleep in my bed (!!) but they're tiny so I don't mind. Doxie's finally stopped picking on the birdies and now plays with Britta, so it's a good thing. When we're at work/school, Doxie isn't alone anymore.
Anyway, Britta is our second AKC Dachshund in a month, and our second one for free. XD I have to call it fate. She is red, with a white patch on her belly and white hair on her toes. Gorgeous and just so lovable, like a baby. Thank goodness they're tiny, because they both want to be on my lap together or one gets jealous.
Here's a few pictures.

heehee. They're a lot of fun. Only thing I'm not too found of - when Doxie gets scared or excited, she pees all over ! My uncle's dog, Frankie does it - he's a mini dachshund. I think it might be a breed thing, but Britta hasn't started yet. Yet!

When Doxie does this, does she roll over and then pee? It could be submissive urination. Penny has done that since she was a puppy, when she gets scared or when someone bends down to pet her out of no where, she will pee a little. She has gotten alot better over time. If your Doxie does it when you come home and she is excited, my vet said to try this... Kahlua, my boy doxie, would do the excited pee. She said to ignore him when we first got home, and if he did it when company came in, she said to tell them to ignore him for about the first 5 minutes also, instead of making a big deal out of their arrival and petting him, then he would calm down, and that worked good with him. Here's a small link I found on submissive urination if you want to check it out.

Thanks, I'll look that over with my dad. And yes, she does roll over like that. We've done the.. not so excited entrance for a few weeks and she's gotten really better. She's even started rolling without going. Thanks again for the site and the support.
