Do JRT's have 2 different categories? (Long hair or short hair) I always thought they had short hair until I saw a pic of a long haired one on another site a few days ago.

Jack is adorable!

Erin, you've never experienced a Boston Terrier!

I'm not sure about a long haired JRT. I know the difference between course and fine hair though

The one I saw had LONG hair! Not just coarse, but LONG hair. I didn't think he/she was a purebred but I was told that it was.

Cool

Oh, the poem really, really fits!

They are cute little dogs, but definitely have their own schedule and don't get in their way! My best friend used to have one and you could be sitting on her sofa watching TV and the dog would just walk (or jump) right over you as if you weren't there.

We had a Jack Russell croseed with a Shih Tzu once (yes, we called it a Jack S***) but weren't able to keep it. Looked just like a shih tzu from behind and the top - but oh, that face!

Yes with Jack it is his way or no way.

Some rescuers of JRTs don't adopt one out unless the family has a fenced in yard. If one escapes the house, you might as well forget the rest of your day because you'll be out trying to catch him.

the only boston terrier i've been in contact with is a little guy named Elvis that lived at the animals shelter, he's blind and pretty set in his ways. I think a great family finally came along and adopted him so he can spend his golden years with a family. His first mom passed away, which is how he wound up at the shelter a little better than a year ago
