Kismet?

Okay, so I've been waffling with the idea of a second dane for a while now. I always check petfinder, but I'm mostly just playing with the idea. EVENTUALLY I'll get a second, but I really don't plan to know.

So I made a petfinder classified ad about my foster puppies. Then I thought better of it after all I got was spam and scams and some really weird people talking about "your pet" - not the puppies, or one of the puppies, they just wanted my pet. :/

So I went to delete it, and searched by my city - and came up with an ad for a dane. The only other ad except one for my city. Well, just wondering, I emailed the people for more info - and it turns out I've MET the man before and talked to him about this dane!

Now, out of the handful of Dane owners in my town, to have MET the guy and talked to him about the specific dog before... isn't that a little coincidental?

I don't think I'm ready for a second just yet. I was waiting til Stella is a year, and she's only 8 mos. But do you think this Dane is meant for me? I've always happened on my pets and they needed me. They've always FOUND me. Is this Dane finding me, or am I just nuts?

wierd. i say just meet the man and ;his dane again, maybe bring yours, walk your dogs together and just talk about them. a laid back no-expectations meeting. then see what your intuition tells you

It sounds like it but it also sounds like Stella can be a bit overwhelming for you sometimes too. (trust me I understand I have a 15mo old dog who is still a puppy) I guess I would say think about Stella and times it by at least two. Since you have been able to deal with the foster puppies so well then maybe you will be OK. What about keeping one of the pups? Or are you really set on a 2nd dane?? Just some thoughts I had.

I do for sure want a second dane some day. I forgot to mention this one is 2, and out of the puppy stage.

I think I will probably wait. Stella does give me BUCKETS of trouble, and I may end up keeping a foster puppy... so a second dane may be quite in the future.
