That's great all worked out and they both get along.

Lucky is a 'mini' lab. She's a boxer/lab mix, she's only 45 pounds and she'll be two on April Fools Day :-) She can't swim either, like one of your dogs.

Sparky is 5 or 6 years old, I'm sure you've read about him. We just got him at the end of January from the APL, he was about to be put down when a shelter volunteer took him home but couldn't keep him b/c she was already at the dog limit for her housing development. She he's here now :-) and loves his new Lucky girl.

Lucky looks like a pure Lab in the picture but the weight sounds small. My dogs are in the 90IB range- Beau even reaches 100IB at times -he's a pretty big Golden.
next dog I get is going to be a heinze 57 because my dogs especially Buddy have numerous orthopedic problems- that's why Buddy can't swim- he's had 4 major surgeries on legs. Vet told me many people would have just put him down. They don't call them "Goldens" for nothing- they cost a fortune with all their problems!!!
We just brought home a 20ft above ground pool for them yesterday- I'm so excited ,can't wait for it to be put up and deck put on. We're going to swim instead of walk for excercise!
Do you have a pool? You can always get one of those vests and make your dog swim with help. maybe he'll learn how if his bones and such are OK.

Lucky doesn't have any health problems, unless you say chewing on everything she can get her teeth into is a health problem. She just doesn't know how to swim. She's flops her paws out of water instead of the nice graceful doggie paddle. We have a little tiny kiddy pool in the summer, she likes to stand in it and use it as her giant water bowl. I've read about a lot of the health issues that come with a lot of the purebred dogs, we've never had anything but heinz 57's.

We've had a collie/husky mix, his name was Sparky and was ran over after we'd only had him maybe 2 months

Our second dog was a shepard/husky, he developed kidney failure and was put down at 12 years old. His name was Sparky II

Lucky is our third dog, and our first girl. We got her when she was 4 weeks old from a rescue, she had such bright blue eyes when we brought her home.

And Sparky III is our 4th dog, he's 5 or 6 years old. It's funny that he was already named Sparky, lol. So we've got both a pig and a dog with that name now! Can you tell our family likes things named Sparky?!
