MD Breeders

I'm finally starting to look seriously at getting a puppy (something I've been waiting so long to do) and I'm very excited! I miss having a dog around like I always did while growing up. Since I'm in an apartment, I'm definitely looking for a small breed. The top breeds on the list are yorkies and silkys, mainly since I know I like the yorkie breed since that's what my family's had since I was born. Does anyone know of any breeders for either yorkies or silkys in MD? I found one or two on the web, but I'm hoping to get a good handful so I can compare and have a good selection to choose from. Or does anyone have any other breed suggestions? The dog needs to be small, probably under 15 inches high and no more than 20 or so lbs at max. A couple others on my list are the Australian terrier and Westies.

I would try the Humane Society or SPCA first. They always have pure bred dogs there and you would be giving an animal a second chance at life.
