My first show dog
The situation is right. I can finally have a dog. It will have to stay outside in a pen when no one is home, but that's not often. I am SOOO happy. I have been wanting a dog for a long time. And I take care of 21 dogs at work so I know how much work they can be, so I know I can handle one of my own.
The woman brings him over next Tuesday. He is a six month old tri-color sheltie. He has 12 generations of champion blood line from both American, and Canada. This is a great start for me, since I plan on having my own kennel in the future. And this will give me the opportunity to handle my own dog in the show ring.
We decided to name him Gambit. The lady said he is a very sweet dog that loves to lay on his back for a tummy rub. I have already ordered a ton of dog things on petsmarts website!
YAY for me!
as soon as i get him prepare for a huge picture over load.
lol, i still have to think of his show name!

Congrats!!! I am so happy for you!!
I've always had a huge interest in showing and one day I will purchase a show-quality hairless Chinese Crested . I'd also love to have a pair of Moscow Toy Terriers imported and maybe breed them in the future.

I am definally going to breed my little guy. I may end up studding him out before i have my own kennel to start breeding. I definally want him to do great in a few show rings and become a champion before i breed or even stud.

Congrats!
I don't mean to be rude here, but you mentioned once you sometimes don't have enough money to purchase healthy food, and that you had to eat cheap food. If you don't have enough money for your own food, how could you afford a dog? Just wondering, no offense meant!

when did i say that i cant offord health food?
it was the day before pay day, i had no money i wanted to spend and i was out of food. so i got some ramen. i had to eat cheap food when i was 15 living with my mom with nothing but tuna starving! but thats wayyy in the past. no i am not offended, you just really misunderstood where ever you thought i said something like that.
i am not bragging but i make plenty of money, i also work with 21 collies every day, and i also work with the kennel funds placeing orders and what not. i would never get a pet i couldnt care for.

That's great!!!! You are very used to collie breeds, so I guess you are very prepared for the exercise and stimulation he will require! And the grooming! LOL
As someone who owns a showdog, I will only advise this- let him be a pet first. This was a hard struggle we had between my daughter (who actually owns Hogan) and me- she wanted him to be serious show-mood all the time, but I thought he needed to be able to play and run and get dirty and get into stuff- she finally saw that I was right. So, he has had a few little minor scrapes, etc and he has a couple samll scars now- but they are honorable scars and judges want to see dogs doing what they were bred to do. They don't get the right muscle tone and physical shape just laying on the sofa getting brushed. LOL
