oh she's so beautiful, i have to keep looking at her, i see my roxanne! lol *sigh* I remember my vet saying it's just because they're such muscular dogs. You could look into homeopathic stuff. My dad had found an herbal extract in pill form he gave her once daily, it was supposed to promote/help tissue growth and strength. All i can say is it certainly didn't make anything worse. They wouldn't pay for the surgery (we weren't well off) so they finally put her down 2 months after her second knee went. During that two months she was such an infant. (naturally) she just laid around all day. She wouldn't tolerate a doggie wheelchair harness, but she did tolerate my dad wrapping a towel around her abdomen then lifting her backend and "wheelbarrow"-ing her outside to go to the bathroom. But....then he just became a jerk and made her walk on her own. Mom and I would put up a HUGE fuss, so he's then pick her up. At night we'd Carry her up the stairs, I was just old/strong enough so i'd do it on my own if he didn't. Roxanne would grumble and growl, but she knew we meant well so she NEVER ONCE did anything to us. Just grumbled a LOT. So now that i'm done being long-winded....lask your vet about any homeopathic remedies he could point you to, for helping tissue repair and such. I'm not into it personally, all i say is it didn't hurt her, and sasha (my other dog) did quite well having blown one knee and living for 4 years after with no surg repairing, just taking tha tpill once everyday with dinner. It was interesting to watch over time, i'll give it that.
